The CVP is a structured, time-bound volunteer initiative to recruit, train and deploy young Commonwealth citizens to deliver services in areas including education and health, while building a pathway from volunteer service into sustainable livelihoods and public service.

A Shared Partnership
What the Global CVP Secretariat Provides
- Volunteer recruitment and screening
- Volunteer onboarding and induction
- Training support for volunteers
- Ongoing programme coordination and support
- Issuance of the CVP Certificate of Service
What the Host Partner Provides
- dentification of suitable volunteer roles aligned with organisational priorities and provision of a supportive learning environment
- Payment of volunteers (at least the national minimum wage)
- Feedback on volunteer performance at the end of placement, to both the volunteer and the CVP secretariat
- Consideration of converting high-performing volunteers to full-time staff or other contract positions beyond the placement term
